There is that old adage that says the only thing that is constant is change. This is one of those universal truths we have all come to accept. Heck, even Dunkin' Donuts, widely credited as being the inventor of the word “Donut,” is dropping the word from their brand name. Blasphemy! But that is for another blog...
A Panel of Experts Discusses Best Practices for Clinical NGS Quality Management in the Rapidly Evolving Field of Clinical Genomics
Introducing the SeraCare Confidence Score, a comprehensive precision metric designed for NGS assays
There is an even greater onus to track quality control metrics for NGS assays because of the number of steps and elements that must successfully work together to produce consistent results. The Standards and Guidelines for Validating NGS Bioinformatics, published in January by AMP and CAP, highlight the importance of tracking QC metrics over time because “trends in these metrics can indicate an emerging issue with an NGS process that has not yet manifested itself in failed tests.”

iQ™ NGS QC Management software for easy assessment of assay performance
As a manager of a clinical genomics laboratory, how many times have you been faced with the following situations?
- You need to produce trending performance data over the past three months as a part of an internal audit
- You need to examine the last runs performed that used a particular piece of equipment that you suspect may be out of specification
- You need to produce a QC report for an upcoming regulatory inspection
- You need to find out root cause of an assay failure
